And Miles To Go Before I Sleep

Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

All Things Denote There Is A God

"...The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it,..."

--Excerpt From Alma 30: 44

I took this picture on a trip to the redwoods last summer and saw the cross in the middle, fiddled around with Photoshop to take out some junk that was around it and clean up the picture in general and thought I'd share it here. (I did not add anything to this picture)

The Screwtape Letters

I just finished the Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. And would highly recommend them. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the premise of The Screwtape Letters they really are fairly self explanatory. They are letters from Screwtape a executive devil to a novice tempter Wormwood. And inside these letters they discuss the status of Wormwood's 'patient' , the human he is assigned to. Throughout the pages Screwtape gives us the ins and outs of Hell and all of their new methods and tools.

In truth I thought they were very revealing. By making the letters such a distant source and never discussing really what Wormwood does (you only get letters from Screwtape) you actually are more able to put yourself in the shoes of the 'patient' and the satire becomes all the more poignant because you can relate to the 'patient'. As I have said I would highly recommend this book. It is a masterpiece of satire and I did not find it dark but hopeful. It's amazing how Screwtape's twisted businesslike manner works but it is not a discouraging, but an enlightening read.

Still Here!

Yep.......

I'm still here and Life Is Good. Its warm and I'm liking it a lot.

New Friends and Old Friends and just fun times in between sessions of boredom.

Oh...and a Monopoly victory. Not only did I have almost all of the property on the board I ended with both Samwise Gamgee and Pippin Took! Is that not a solid victory?

So yeah: LIFE IS GOOD!

I also rediscovered an old favorite: Gaelic Storm! :)

In Limbo....

Yeah... That's about where I am. Not really anywhere, but on the brink of everything.

I am here at home in Springville twiddling my thumbs waiting to see what will happen. I am now filling out mission papers that will be submitted in march and depending on what they say one of two scenarios could come about.

Option A: I leave on or very close to my eligibility date (June 22) and I deffer the spring semester at BYUIdaho and keep working until I leave.

Option B: The mission call says I don't leave until after mid July and I am expected to go to spring semester at BYUIdaho...

Until then I am here just waiting. Working the Same Job I had in High School. Basically doing everything I did this summer minus fiends because they've all made it the where they're off to. *shrug*

Oh well. I am happy to be home and spend time with my family. I can't complain.

Life Is Good.
